Fielding Arts Society – Manawatu Visual Poetry Jam Workshop (28 September 2023)

Our first attempt at local collaboration was with the library but they were concerned that they didn’t have the right space at the moment for it and recommended that we try the local Fielding Arts Society. We contacted them and they agreed to hire us a room and they would handle the marketing of the workshop to their local families for the school holidays.
They were confident that we would have a full house and were excited about us bringing the project to Fielding.
Due to the intimate nature of the group there was lots of individual attention to be given. One of the students was very shy but by the end of the workshop they were very excited about what they were learning and really excited to show what they captured. This change in confidence was a beautiful thing to behold.
